This handmade gnome is Martin, Gnome of the Magpies.  He is inspired by the many magpies flying through the air trying to find a place to nest.  I used the colours of the magpie's flashy wings as a colour pallet.  The hand felted gnome hat colours are a blend of brown, light grey, Mallard green, bright blue and purple. 
As well as being adorable, Martin is lightweight and soft to the touch.
