This is where it all starts, a felted, white, carrot; the gnomes’s body. Eventually, layer by layer, it becomes a lovely little #tomte. #wips #gnomesforyourhomes #felting #feltingfigures #feltersofinstagram #feltedgnomes #customgifts

Upcoming Supernova Gnome

View on Instagram http://bit.ly/2VgQwkH

I have treated myself to a subscription for Spin City monthly batts. This month I received my first batt and of course I had to make a gnome.

Louise makes the most beautiful batts full of different textures and colours, I just love her stuff, I usually end to making a couple of gnomes then spin or just look at the rest.

This month’s theme was Supernova and I got a huge batt full of colours like pink, navy, aqua, hot pink and copper with a huge variety of textiles such as merino, firestar, tencel and eider. I can’t wait for next month.

#Marchmeetthemaker Day 17: What I am working on

Well I am always working on a #gnome. But let’s get realistic. I am working on my website and photos and listings and these #marchmeetthemaker2019

If you are a seller, unfortunately, 70% of the time you are working on social media marketing, or else you would never get seen. I call it Admin, and there is a reason big businesses hire these positions out. However, it would be silly of me to only be #makinggnomes unless someone was always buying. I would end up like the old woman in the shoe, only with #gnomes instead of kids.

I am working hardest is getting petite to my website shop as getting out from under Etsy is a big goal of mine. So sorry to let you down, but admin is what I am working on now.

#Marchmeetthemaker Day 16: Workspace

You all have seen the pictures of my allotted #workspace. It is really used for storage and I hardly ever work there, hence the messiness. In reality, I work in the living room. Where the kids are, and the TV and the xbox and more mess. I usually plop down all my materials in a heap on the floor and sit at the coffee table or the floor and stab away.

In the Summer, I will take my work outside, but I always have to be aware of what might get stuck in the fibers. I will say this though. You know all of those plastic baskets you get fruit in? They make wonderful project baskets. I usually fill one with all of the fibers I plan to use and that way, if I become randomly inspired or I get a custom request that I can’t work on right away, I can chuck all of the colours into the basket and work on it later. I really do encourage using the plastic baskets if you are a small project maker like crafts, painter, cross stitch etc.
